They say photography is all about the story that carries the audience along

Updated: Sep 23, 2021

One of the benefits of military life and all the moving around is the opportunity of being able to photograph people and places in many corners of the world, so, in a tiny manner I feel like each of my photos reflect a way o living, a certain local touch close to showing a way of life. Therefore, I dare categorizing some as lifestyle photography because the journey is different and the photos bring in a new perspective.

Alejandro had his First Communion in a pandemic year so he was deprived of some of the events commotion it bring, but he had his godfather, his loving family and lots of siblings to celebrate it with.

While a child’s first Communion is indeed a cause for celebration and should be beautiful and memorable, the true focus of that holy and special day must remain the sacrament itself as the little ones are welcomed to the table of the Lord.

These pictures are just a mirror of the joy this family had before going to church to attend the sacred mass. Here are Alejandro and his godfather(s) bonding before church.

Traditions of celebration surrounding First Communion usually include large family gatherings and parties to celebrate the event. The first communicant wears special clothing, and special is how this boy felt and showed.

Because this was more that a child's first communion, it was this pride parents first child first communion!

I tell the story for two reasons. First, to remind us that children’s are capable of deep religious feelings and insights.

The second reason is even more important: we do not know what comes next in God’s plan for every one of them, we have no idea what path these wonderful children of ours are going to take, but we will always have these photos to remember us of this moments!
